With the release of Apple M1 and the achievement of very high performance with low energy consumption, the transition to ARM processors on the Windows side has accelerated. In this context, the first model of Lenovo ThinkPad series, which is very popular in the business world, with ARM processor was introduced within the scope of MWC 2022.

The Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor, developed by Qualcomm, was used for the first time in a commercial computer with the ThinkPad X13s model. Lenovo states that this device can last up to 28 hours on a single charge, thanks to its high-level energy efficiency and a 13.3-inch display that offers a maximum brightness of 400 nits.

That’s why we look forward to testing the device, as it’s impossible to get this time on any other laptop with an Intel or AMD processor.

Lenovo ThinkPad X13s features: Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3

8cx Gen 3, the first 5 nm processor developed for the Windows platform, hosts customized Kryo cores. The processor, which offers external support for two 4K displays, includes the X62 5G modem and supports 120 Hz refresh rate. Similar to

M1 Macbook Air, without any fan, the computer weighs just 1.13 kg. The upper and lower parts of the device are manufactured using 90 percent recycled magnesium.

It has up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe storage. The computer, which also has two USB-C Gen 2 ports, does not have a Thunderbolt 4 port. The laptop, which has 5G support, also supports Wi-Fi 6E technology, so that you can quickly access the internet anywhere.

The 5 Megapixel camera of the device, which comes out of the box with the Windows 11 Pro operating system, comes with artificial intelligence-based automatic framing. In addition, the three microphones on the laptop are powered by smart noise suppression.

To protect sensitive data from prying eyes, it has a feature that can automatically dim or turn off the laptop’s screen when it detects that you are looking away.

Being the first ARM-based Lenovo ThinkPad with Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor, ThinkPad X13s will be available in May with a starting price of $1100.
