The undisputed leader of the mobile processor architecture industry, ARM carries the Cortex-X concept, which it has positioned in a different place in its flagship class, to the third generation. ARM Cortex-X3 comes with significant performance boost.

What does the ARM Cortex-X3 offer?

The Cortex-X architecture, which is included in flagships such as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000, brings a peak performance increase of around 25 percent with its third generation. In terms of IPC, an increase of around 11 percent was achieved.

On the laptop side, a performance increase of around 34 percent is achieved compared to the Intel Core-i7 1260p 28W processor. It seems that ARM also wants to be influential in the laptop market with the Cortex-X3.

On the mainstream side, we come across the ARM Cortex-A715. Compared to the previous generation, an energy efficiency of around 20 percent is offered at the same frequency values. Thus, a more balanced performance is revealed at the medium level.

The ARM Cortex-A510 core has received an update without changing its name. ARM Cortex-A510, which can be scaled up to 12 cores, cuts around 5 percent on power consumption for efficiency.

The DSU unit, which creates clusters according to needs by combining Level 3 cache, controllers and external interfaces with one or more cores, has also been updated to achieve 50 percent more core scaling. ARM Cortex-X3, ARM Cortex-A715 and ARM Cortex-A510 cores will find their place in the first chipsets towards the end of the year.
