Blockchain technologies continue to develop at full speed. Finally, Arbitrum has started rolling out the Nitro upgrade on its testnet. According to the statements made, if this test is successful, Arbitrum will release Nitro on the mainnet in a few weeks.
Nitro Upgrade for Arbitrum on the way
Arbitrum is a Layer-2 solution that is actively used on Ethereum. The project, which is currently in the first place in the amount of TVL, is in the 7th place in all Blockchain networks. The Nitro upgrade, which the network has been working on for a while, is an efficiency-oriented upgrade.
The launch of Nitro is crucial for Ethereum. So much so that making one of the main scaling solutions even more efficient means improvements in the traffic of the network. Abritrum will make the network more scalable by supporting even faster and cheaper transactions.
Speaking on the subject, Arbitrum CEO Steven Goldfeder made the following statements:
“Nitro will allow us to increase the capacity of Ethereum significantly, many times the scales”
The technology behind the Nitro update is based on WebAssambly (WASM). This serves as a secondary part of evidence of transactions if they are in dispute. The WASM application allows the L2 Arbitrum engine (Arbitrum Virtual Machine) to be written and compiled with standard tools and languages. Thus, the existing custom-designed language can replace the compiler.
