Outlier Ventures is launching a new 12-week accelerator program to support startups built on Aptos.

In a statement made by the company, it was stated that the program will launch in California in May. UK-based Outlier Ventures currently runs one of the largest accelerator programs in the Web3 space. The Outlier team has also taken 187 early-stage Web3 initiatives under its wing since it began running the program in 2019.

Aptos Grows Partnerships

The new Aptos initiative will join Outlier’s existing roster of programs, including Filecoin basecamp, Polygon basecamp, and a basecamp focused on zero-knowledge proof technologies. The program will be called “Aptos x Outlier Move Accelerator”.

Outlier derives some of its revenue from corporate partners such as FarFetch and Polygon, who pay to participate in accelerators.

The program is sponsored by the Blockchain foundation, while the Aptos Labs team will provide support for 12 weeks on product roadmap, community building and asset structuring.

The program is just one of Aptos’ wide-ranging partnerships, which includes a capital investment in social media app Chingari and plans for an accelerator program with Google Cloud.

Applications for the program begin today and accepted startups will receive $100,000 in funding under the program.

Since the early days of the crypto bear market, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of accelerators launched. Just this week, developer framework service Tatum launched a new accelerator to bridge the gap between traditional and web3 accelerators. A relatively new Layer-1 blockchain, Aptos, launched on the mainnet late last year and has raised over $350 million in funding from investors since the start of 2022.
