One of the Bloomberg reporters, Mark Gurman, made statements about the US-based technology giant Apple that would fall like a bomb on the agenda. Gurman suggested that Apple will detonate a big bomb at WWDC 2023. Allegedly, Apple will start a brand new era with iOS 17. In this new era, iPhone users will be able to download applications not only from the App Store, but from anywhere they wish.

The closed source code of the iOS operating system allows this operating system to be ‘touched’ as much as Apple allows. To date, the brand has not allowed installing applications from external sources, citing user security. Mark Gurman, referring to the “Digital Markets Law” adopted in the European Union, states that Apple will continue to comply with the current rules. According to the law in the European Union, all technology companies were required to comply with this law before March 2024. Apple also seems to comply with the law.

The system similar to the APK structure on Android will come to iOS

You can install applications from any source on open source Android operating systems. All you have to do here is to access the installation file, also known as the APK, of the application you want to install. This system will also reach the Apple ecosystem with WWDC 2023, which will allegedly be held in June.

However, it is not clear what method Apple will follow here. Mark Gurman did not provide any details on the subject. But at this point, we can do a little brainstorming. iOS 17 will probably add a new option to the Settings section, just like Android, and leave the decision to install applications from external sources to the user’s choice. In this way, the user will be able to use only the App Store, and the user will be able to use any external source.

So what will iOS 17 offer users?
