The expected spread of digital universes in the future causes the rapid spread of virtual reality technologies. Recently, there has been talk that Apple, one of the largest companies in the world, will also make a move in this regard.
As we have shared with you, a claim was made on this subject in the past months. Li Nan, co-founder of China-based Meizu, claimed in his statements that Apple would release a VR / AR (virtual / augmented reality) set. In addition, some developers have shown that the company is working on an operating system called ‘RealityOS’ that can be used on these devices. Now, there has been another development in this regard.
Trademark filed for RealityOS
Parker Ortolani, US Patent and Trademark for ‘RealityOS’ of an unknown company named ‘Realityo Systems LLC’ He discovered that he had filed a trademark application with the USTPO. In the application, which appears to have been made in December 2021; The inclusion of the ‘software’ and ‘wearable computer hardware’ categories drew great attention. This showed that Apple may have registered ‘RealityOS’ through a front company.
Of course, it is possible to say that this document can belong to any company. But there are also some cases that indicate that it belongs to Apple. The technology giant used a front company called ‘Yosemite Research LLC’ for Yosemite and Big Sur, which was previously used for macOS. What connects this with the current document is that ‘Yosemite Research LLC’ and Realtyo Systems LLC are registered at the same address.
In short, although there is no official statement yet, it can be seen that the company plans to release an AR / VR set in the near future. A recent Bloomberg report states that the device, which is still under development, may be announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event that will be held in the coming days.
