Bloomberg technology reporter Mark Gurman, who claims that Apple plans to offer a new entry-level MacBook Pro to replace the current 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 support, says this computer will use the next-generation M2 processor. The computer could be released in November 2022. It was previously claimed that this computer will be offered with the M1 processor.
As reported by 9to5Mac, Gurman now expects the new MacBook to use next-generation Apple silicon, while also dropping some features. Earlier rumors already stated that the 13-inch entry-level model would not use the Touch Bar. But apparently much more will be waived.
Gurman writes, “I would expect the new entry-level MacBook Pro to match the higher-end MacBook Pros by losing the Touch Bar, but the key differences will be more. Less display, processor and storage… Nor will there be ProMotion or miniLED. ”
As Gurman points out, this unlikely MacBook Pro model will not include some of the popular features from the current 14-inch and 16-inch models, such as the 120Hz MiniLED ProMotion display, and we can expect lower storage and processing power. The payoff is that at least one model of the MacBook Pro lineup will remain relatively affordable.
As a result, we can expect all next-generation MacBook Pros to be built around the M2 processor. But it seems that there will be a situation like “the one who gives the money blows the whistle” in terms of features.
