With each new iPhone model, Apple brings something new to the smartphone market. The company, which tries to improve its smart phones, which develops every year, aims to take an important step in the screen this time. iPhone models, which have been criticized for notch and thick screen frames for years, may reach a whole new level in the coming years.

Apple pressed the button for the frameless iPhone model

According to the latest information, Apple has asked Samsung Display and LG Display to develop an OLED that removes all the front bezels of the iPhone. Samsung Display and LG Display need to make significant strides in many different technologies to realize the frameless OLED Apple demands.

These two companies need to improve their thin-film encapsulation (TFE) and under-screen camera (UPC) technologies in order to produce the frameless display Apple wants. In addition, the antenna area needs to be taken into account. So it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer for the bezel-less iPhone models yet.

Apple wants to preserve the flat screen and angular design of the iPhone while bringing a borderless display to life. Therefore, the curved screen design used by other phone manufacturers is not an option for the new generation iPhone models. Apple believes that the curved part of the screens degrades the resolution and negatively affects the stability of the phone.

In order for Apple to realize the frameless design that Apple wants without applying a curved screen in this way, all the circuits in the existing frame area must be positioned under the screen. This means less space for both the antenna and other components. However, Apple is quite determined in this request.

In line with this goal, Apple, which has started to thin the screen frames in each new model, wants to offer a frameless iPhone model to its users in the future. Samsung and LG have started working on this issue.

Let’s see if Apple will be able to implement the bezel-less iPhone plan in the near future. So what do you think about bezel-less smartphone models? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
