Apple held the first stage of Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), or as it is known in our country, Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, at 20:00 tonight. New versions of operating systems and 2 new devices were introduced here. In addition, the M2 processor and features used in these products have also been revealed.

M2 processor features have been announced!

Today, the eyes of the whole world were on Apple’s WWDC 22 event. In particular, thousands of people went to the USA to promote the new iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13 and tvOS 16 operating systems. In addition, new devices with the M2, which have been expected for a while, have also appeared. Here are the M2 processor specifications…

The M2 processor offers 18 percent higher performance in CPU and 35 percent higher performance in GPU compared to its predecessor, M1 at the same Watt values. But the M1 Pro is not at a level to compete with the M1 Ultra and M1 Max chips. It was not expected to be so. Because the main thing that the M2 will offer us is that it can consume low power even though it is more powerful than its predecessor. Therefore, its performance per watt is quite high.

Apple’s new processor is manufactured with the N4P process, an improved version of TSMC’s 5 nm process. In this way, compared to the normal 5 nm process, it offers 11 percent higher performance and 22 percent power efficiency. So it is both more powerful and consumes less power.

M2 has a total of 20 billion transistors. Of the 8 core processors, 4 are focused on performance and 4 on efficiency. While it consumes 1/4 of its competitors with 12 CPU cores, it gives almost the same performance (87 percent). It also supports 6K video output. On the RAM side, you can go up to 24 GB LPDDR5.
