Apple launched the Pro Display XDR in 2019. The device was both for professionals and the price was very expensive. There is good news about affordable external displays that have been expected from Apple for a long time. Allegedly, LG is working on new 24-inch and 27-inch external displays for Apple. These screens have designs similar to those used in iMacs.
The model, which is 24 inches in size, is said to be very similar to the display on the currently used iMacs. Allegedly, the device will have a 4.5K Retina display with a resolution of 4480×2520. Screen; It will include 500 nits brightness, 1 billion colors support, and DCI-P3 wide color gamut support. In addition, True Tone technology will also be offered to users.
Allegedly, this external display will not feature mini-LED backlight technology and Apple-developed ProMotion technology. This means that there will be no special brightness and 120 Hz screen refresh rate for HDR content on the screens. The model is expected to be cheaper than the current 24-inch iMac ($1,299).
The 27-inch external screen will be inspired by the 27-inch iMac, which is expected to be introduced in 2022. Allegedly, unlike the 24-inch external display, the 27-inch model will feature mini-LED backlight technology and Apple-developed ProMotion technology. In this way, 120 Hz refresh rate will be offered on the external display.
It is not yet clear when the 27-inch screen will be introduced. Its price is expected to be cheaper than the iMac 27-inch ($1,799) currently on sale. It is also alleged that a new 32-inch Pro Display XDR is on the way. Allegedly, this screen will have one of Apple’s new processors.
