Apple will announce the Watch Series 9 models along with the iPhone 15 series next month. The new claims that have emerged show that the company has made a series of changes in the Watch band design. The main change in the band is that it will switch to a woven fabric and buckle design.

Will the Apple Watch Series 9 band be magnetic?

No major design changes are expected in the Watch Series 9, but it looks like Apple is reworking the band. The company wants the bands to be adjustable with the watch. Accordingly, the new strap will be woven fabric with magnetic buckle closure.

With this change from Apple, users will be able to buy and customize different bands. So predetermined cord sizes like the Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop will be a thing of the past. The new band may be similar to the style Apple is currently offering, but it will come with a magnetic clasp to adjust to the wrist.

The image shared in the leak on Twitter shows a strap with a woven fabric pattern and metal buckle. The connection mechanism to the Apple Watch body seems to use standard, pin tabs.

Rumor has it that the new band could be an affordable alternative to the $149 Leather Link option. It could also give the Watch lineup a new look, which hasn’t received any major design changes since the introduction of the Solo Loop in 2020.

In addition to the new band, Apple is also said to be working on the affordable Watch SE 3. The smart watch, which is expected to be price / performance oriented, can be showcased at the September launch.
