The temperature sensor, which is normally expected to come with Apple Watch Series 7, unfortunately could not catch up. For a long time, the temperature sensor was expected in smart watches, in this direction, Apple may bring this feature at the end of this year.
Algorithm and calculations
Ming-Chi Kuo, known for his sources close to Apple, explained the reason why Apple canceled the temperature sensor in Watch Series 7. According to Kuo, Apple did not find the algorithms to run the sensor sufficient and delayed it. Body temperature measurements develop a rather complex algorithm. Body temperature sensors, which are highly affected by factors such as sunlight and outside temperature, have to work very dependent on algorithms and calculations. Therefore, the measurements have to be quite adequate on the software side as well as the hardware. However, Bloomberg stated that we will see the temperature sensor this year. Therefore, Apple may have taken good steps on the software side.
Galaxy Watch 5 may not have a temperature sensor
Ming-Chi Kuo stated that if Apple’s Watch Series 8 reaches an accurate algorithm before mass production begins, we will see the temperature sensor this year. In addition, Kuo stated that we will not be able to see the temperature sensor on the Galaxy Watch 5. According to Kuo, Samsung has not been able to prepare an algorithm that works correctly.
