Recently, Apple announced its new mixed reality glasses called Vision Pro. In this context, Vision Pro, which has been on the agenda for a long time with both its design and features, left small question marks in the minds of users. One of them is that the device has a battery life of 2 hours. In a new report shared today, the battery capacity of the device has come to light.

Battery capacity of Apple Vision Pro revealed

For those who don’t know, as part of the WWDC 2023 event, Apple announced that the Vision Pro will offer up to 2 hours of battery life with an external battery, but can be used actively all day. At this point, let us remind you that there is no battery in the device. In the shared press images, we saw that the external battery pack has very small dimensions. So much so that the current claims were that the device had a capacity of 6,500mAh.

On the other hand, newly shared reports state that this capacity will be around 20,000mAh (74 Wh), about three times higher. Therefore, we can say that 2 hours of battery life is more acceptable. Niketim, this figure indicates a total power consumption of about 30 W and confirms Apple’s statements.

Confirms Apple’s rhetoric

When we dig deeper, the power consumption of the Apple Vision Pro is estimated at 30W. Behind it are two internal displays, the M2 and R1 chipsets. Note that the R1 chipset we come across here is just a renamed M2. But alongside the M2, he will be responsible for different task loads. The M2 is said to consume up to 20W of power when used heavily. So M2 and R1 will need about 20-25W power consumption, while internal sensors and displays will need 5 to 10W power consumption.

The new information shared may explain why Apple is turning to a separate 20,000mAh battery solution. Because the heat to be generated under a power consumption of 30W may affect the lower capacities and the health of the device in long use. However, it should not be forgotten that all these are leaks. We will have to wait until 2024 for all the details.
