Apple managed to attract all the attention with Vision Pro, the mixed reality glasses introduced at the WWDC 23 event it held recently. HTC’s new AR/VR glasses draw attention with their price and features
After Apple introduced the Vision Pro model, HTC’s virtual reality division also announced its brand new AR/VR glasses. With a price tag of $1,299, the new Vive XR Elite Business Edition is almost a third of the price of the Vision Pro.
Although HTC’s new mixed reality glasses may not look as interesting as Vision Pro, it may be the most serious competitor of Apple’s mixed reality glasses with its features. Developed with a business focus, Vive XR Elite Business Edition also brings a new application.
The new AR/VR glasses offered with Business+, which makes device and user management easier for companies, is designed as a tool to facilitate collaboration as well as the features it provides for training and visualization.
The 1920×1920 display pair of the mixed reality glasses has a 90 Hz refresh rate while offering a resolution close to 4K in a 110-degree field of view. In this way, the AR / VR glasses, which can provide more detailed images to its users, also host four monitoring cameras, a 16MB RGB camera, a depth sensor, a G-sensor, a gyroscope and a proximity sensor.
Equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 (BLE) and Wi-Fi 6E, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor with 12GB of memory and 128GB of storage. HTC’s new augmented reality glasses also have controls that can be used in 6 different ways. The device also incorporates some limited hand tracking technology to perform things like navigating, clicking, dragging, swiping and even typing.
HTC Vive XR Elite Business Edition can make a quick entry into the mixed reality glasses market, especially in price. So what do you think about Apple Vision Pro and other AR/VR glasses models? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
