As of last month, Apple started inviting developers to Vision Pro labs in cities such as Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo. However, Bloomberg writer Mark Gurman said that labs with mixed reality glasses are not very popular with developers.

The main purpose of these labs is to give developers the opportunity to try Vision Pro. Also to provide the opportunity to get help from Apple engineers in creating, testing and optimizing applications for the device. However, there is no lab outside of California for US developers.

They need to go to Cupertino

In this case, developers living in other states must travel to the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, covering their own travel and accommodation expenses. Few developers seem willing to spend time and money testing Vision Pro.

Many developers don’t think it makes sense to build an app for Vision Pro, which will initially only be sold in limited numbers in the US. It is also possible that the applications are not ready yet. So there is no need for developers to go to Cupertino to test.

Apple plans to launch the Vision Pro mixed reality glasses in the first quarter of 2024, priced at $3,500.
