The Apple Vision Pro is Apple’s first mixed reality glasses and will be available in the US with a price tag of $ 3500. The company showed off the Vision Pro’s features towards the end of the WWDC23 event, but didn’t share everything. Image search discovered in VisionOS is one of them. So, what does this feature do?

The image search feature allows users to access information about objects with the title, interact with the text around them, copy real-world printed text into apps, translate text between 17 languages.

It allows users to use real-world text and documents in visionOS, including contact information, web links, unit conversion and more. For example; If there is a link to the website in a brochure, users will be able to scan the link with Apple Vision Pro and open the website in Safari browser. Real-time text translation will come in handy when the user is traveling or needs to quickly translate surrounding text.

Apple Vision Pro will be able to automatically detect text and documents, similar to how iPhones detect text in a photo and allow it to be copied.

The image search feature is currently available in visionOS, available through the latest Xcode beta. Apple has released the first developer preview version of the software.
