Apple updates its App Store pricing system
According to newly shared developer documentation, Apple plans to offer a wide range of prices for one-time in-app purchases and paid apps. At this point, developers will be offered the opportunity to choose between $0.10 up to $10 or $0.50 for $50. On the other hand, we can say that this indicates that there will be many more applications in the App Store that cost 1 dollar instead of the classic 0.99 dollars.
Also, the shared documents show that purchases for the app can go as low as $0.29. The maximum amount that developers can set will be 10 thousand dollars. However, this figure will require special permission from Apple.
Alongside this update, Apple plans to offer more tools for global or regional pricing. This will allow developers to set prices based on country or region. Apple has announced that new rules for existing apps and in-app purchases will apply worldwide starting May 9, 2023.
