Apple’s beloved device series, Apple TV, had its first 4K model in 2017. The Apple TV 4K, which came with the A10X processor, was later updated with the A12 Bionic processor. Apple TV HD, which continued its existence without any hardware updates during this whole process, was shelved almost 8 years later.

Apple TV HD was last refreshed in 2021

Introduced in 2015, Apple TV HD debuted with the A8 processor and 2GB of RAM used in the iPhone 6 series. Although Apple TV HD did not receive any hardware updates, Apple updated the device with a Siri-supported remote last year. The company, which recently updated the Apple TV 4K, stopped the sale of the HD model.

The 2022 model Apple TV 4K is now powered by the A15 Bionic processor. The device, which has 64GB and 128GB storage options, is sold for $ 129 with a decrease in the starting price. The company has completely shelved the TV HD model, with the update of the 4K model and the price reduction. It is not yet clear how long the device will receive software support.
