Taiwanese media reports revealed the new agreement between Apple and Foxconn. Apple demanded that workers start earlier than usual for the iPhone 14 assembly, and more people work for the iPhone 13.

Taiwanese media are reporting that Apple has asked Foxconn to start recruiting workers to assemble the next iPhone 14. Timing seems unusual, as demand arrives earlier than usual.
Taking action during an unusual time for iPhone production, Foxconn has committed to giving a 30 percent bonus to its overworked workers. Local sources say that the time to hire workers for the new iPhone production has not yet come, but it is thought that Apple does not want to have problems with procurement.
Foxconn’s iPhone assembly lines are located in Zhenzhou, where quarantine measures have been ended. That’s why Apple wants to increase capacity at this factory to offset production losses in other parts of China.
It has also been claimed that Apple has agreed with the regional administration to prevent disruption of iPhone production. Although the administration has a goal of eliminating the epidemic in the country, it does not want Apple to flee to other countries.
One of Foxconn’s main measures in combating COVID-19 is the application of closed-loop production to workers. This means employees stay on the premises of the factory. However, workers in areas with a lower risk of coronavirus have the right to go straight home.
