An Apple employee is on the agenda with his TikTok video. The video, in which the employee mentions important safety information about the iPhone, has been caught on the company’s radar. Allegedly, it is stated that Apple threatened to fire its employee, Paris Campbell, because of the TikTok video.

Like every giant company, Apple has a social media policy. Apple’s social media policy restricts employees to post about customers, colleagues, or company confidential information. But the firm’s bylaws state, “We want you to be yourself, but you must also be respectful in posts, tweets, and other online communications.” This means that employees are not completely prevented from sharing about technology.

Apple may fire its employee

Campbell responded to another TikTok user who lost his iPhone at Coachella last week. This user has been receiving threatening messages from someone in China that their personal information will be sold on the black market unless they remove their iPhone from their Apple ID. In his video sharing, Campbell said not to delete his iPhone ID from his device, because the iPhone is just a technological, useless box without an Apple ID. The scammers are actually bluffing the user who lost his phone, because it is not possible for them to sell the iPhone unless the identity information on the device is deleted.

Paris Campbell has been working at Apple as a repair technician for 6 years, according to Tiktok posts. She says she did not share any confidential information, but was still threatened by an Apple executive. Campbell alleges that he received a threatening phone call from the manager who reached out to him, stating that he would be subject to disciplinary action, including termination of employment, if he did not remove the video. The employee’s original video had over 7 million views. Campbell, on the other hand, said that he wanted to know if he would be fired if he interrupted the video and claimed that the manager would get back to him. The Apple employee also shared another video titled “Dear Apple”, stating that she wanted to know if she would be fired.

The future of Campbell, who has more than 439,000 followers on TikTok, remains uncertain. While he’s hugely popular, that may not prevent him from being fired, as Apple fired two high-profile employees last year for sharing confidential information. Campbell, on the other hand, underlines that the information in the videos is something that everyone already knows.
