Apple, which is on the agenda by showing ads on iPhones, is now facing a new claim. Allegedly, Apple threatened to fire a worker who posted a TikTok video with important iPhone security recommendations. This claim came from Paris Campbell, who introduced herself as an Apple employee.
Apple employee says he received threats
After a person named Paris Campbell introduced himself as an Apple employee, he shared about the company. He also stated that he was told that he was violating company policy with his posts.
According to the company’s social media policy, the company warns employees not to post about customers, colleagues, and confidential information. However, Apple does not completely prevent employees from sharing about technology. Also in one document, “We want you to be yourself, but you must be respectful in posts, Tweets, and online communications.” says.
Based in New York, Campbell worked as a repair technician at Apple retail for nearly six years. He responded to a TikTok user who lost his iPhone at Coachella last week. He then received threatening messages saying that his personal information would be sold on the black market if he did not remove his iPhone from his Apple ID.
“I can’t say exactly how I knew this information, but I can say that I’ve been a certified hardware engineer for the past six years at a particular company that has loved to talk about fruit,” Campbell said. In his video before warning the user not to listen to the hijackers, he says, “Your phone is essentially useless to them and you are the only one who can save them and I suggest you don’t.” said.
This video reached 5 million views in 24 hours. On Friday, Campbell said he received a phone call from an administrator saying he should remove the video or face disciplinary action, including termination. When asked what would happen if he left the video halfway, he said that the manager would return to him.
Following these, the employee posted a video titled ‘Dear Apple’ over the weekend. In the video, he said he was an Apple employee and was waiting to hear if he would be fired. “Until this video, I never identified myself as an Apple employee. But the funny thing is that after reviewing social media policies, nowhere does it say I can’t introduce myself as an Apple employee, and I shouldn’t do it in a way that makes the company look dangerous.”
Campbell, who has 439 thousand followers on TikTok, has a significant following. Many argue that he will not be fired because he is popular. So, what do you think about Apple TikTok video? Don’t forget to share your views with us in the comments!
