Apple t:connet, diabetics received full marks from FDA

Apple t:connet application on the iOS platform, the first application developed by the company for diabetics and controlling the insulin pump it happened. The FDA, the agency of the US Department of Health, gave full marks and approved it for use.

Coming up with new developments, t:connect has been redesigned by Apple to be used with Tandem Diabetes Care Inc.’s t:slim X2 insulin pump. The FDA-approved version of the app allows diabetic users who constantly need insulin to pre-schedule, instantiate, and cancel when bolus insulin will be injected via their compatible smartphones.

Actually, the t:connect application previously allowed users to view their insulin pump information on their iPhones. In fact, it still displays ten 24-hour glucose trends, pump status changes, and insulin therapy data.

However, the new version that will run on iOS 14 and higher versions, t:slim X2 insulin pump developed by Tandem Diabetes Care can be fully controlled. It is also stated that this support will be increased in the coming days.

It is not clear in which countries the application will be available for now. However, it is expected to be published for the whole world after a little testing process. Similarly, it is thought that the number of supported insulin pumps will develop in line with the agreements to be made according to the countries.
