iPhones will turn into Vision Pro
For those who don’t know, Apple Vision Pro was introduced with a pocket-worthy price tag of $3,500, although it has a pretty full feature package. Therefore, it is unlikely that the mixed reality title will reach high sales figures. But Apple may have something more innovative in mind.
The latest patent filings, published this week, point to an accessory kit (HMD) from the Cuppertino giant that can connect to the iPhone and turn it from the Vision Pro into a smaller mixed reality headset. According to the patent drawings, this device, which will have a hanging headband similar to the Vision Pro, will be supported wirelessly via iPhone or iPad. Therefore, more limited hardware will have brought Apple an affordable solution.
The shared patent files do not mention exactly how the device works. But it’s clear that Apple is exploring innovative ways through mobile devices. It should be noted that many manufacturers, including Apple, have filed similar patent applications today. However, these technologies are often shelved before they are implemented. So we’ll have to wait and see if the new device will turn into a final product.
