Although it is only months before the release of the iPhone 15 series, which will be Apple’s phones this year, information about the devices has already started to come. A lot of information has emerged, from what features we will see on the phones before, to the fact that the name of the Pro Max can be changed to Ultra.

Now, the information came that the US technology giant has started preparations for the iPhone 15. According to AppleInsider, Apple’s supply chain has started trial production of the iPhone 15 in China, which is the early stage of production.

Apple, which started trial processes for the iPhone 15, wants to increase production in India

As you can imagine, the production of high-end and popular devices like the iPhone requires intense planning and preparation. The information coming now reveals that Apple has started to prepare for mass production with the first trial versions.

According to UDN, Apple’s largest supplier, Foxconn, entered the NPI (new production promotion) process in Shenzhen, China. This process determines how to produce new iPhone models. NPI is also of great importance to the company as it includes identifying issues that could affect the entire production process, testing machines used in manufacturing, and more.

In addition, Apple also wants to take a step forward in its plans to reduce dependence on China in production. According to the information received, the company will try to reduce the time difference between India and China in mass production. Normally, plants in India start production six to nine months after China. The technology giant, which wants to spread production to different regions, also wants to reduce this period to a few weeks. In this way, it is stated that up to 5% of the production in 2023 can be shifted to India.

If Apple can reduce the time it takes to run the NPI process in India to weeks, it could significantly increase production of its core products in the future.
