Apple overhauled the Mail app in iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura and introduced a host of new features that make it more compatible with competing mail services like Gmail .
Details about Apple’s virtual reality glasses have emerged
One of these new features is the long-awaited Undo Send option that allows you to quickly undo the email in case of any error. Undo Send works up to 10 seconds after sending an email, so you don’t have much time to change your mind if you want to undo an email you sent.
Undo sent email
Google’s Gmail service also has an undo send feature for emails. However, you can customize the cancellation period as 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds. For now, Apple has limited retrieval of sent emails to 10 seconds, but it’s possible the company will add other time options in the future.
There are a few more new features coming to the Mail application. You can schedule your emails for the future or have the app remind you about an email you opened but forgot to reply to. You are also allowed to move sent messages to the top of your inbox.
Enhanced search
Rich links are now also supported in email messages and search has been further enhanced. Apple states that once you start searching, you’ll see better search suggestions and it will fix typos and use synonyms for your search terms to find what you’re looking for.
These features are available on Apple platforms for those running the latest software. Updates from Apple are currently limited to developers, but the company plans to release public betas in July.
