Apple is shifting iPad production from China to Vietnam for the first time in history. Because the tight restrictions imposed in the country led to months-long interruptions in the supply chain.

Apple has been considering moving at least some of its iPad production to Vietnam since January 2021. However, the sudden increase in coronavirus cases in Vietnam a few months later delayed this move.
