Apple supplier Quanta Computer is gearing up for the production of new Macbooks. According to Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring, Quanta Computer expects a single-digit percentage growth in laptop production in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the first quarter.

According to recent rumors, Apple will announce the long-awaited 15-inch MacBook Air at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event in June. Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the first-generation 15-inch MacBook Air will come with the M2 chip. Although it does not indicate any changes in its exterior design, the new model comes with a larger screen.

At last year’s WWDC event, the 13-inch MacBook Air was introduced, featuring the M2 chip, MagSafe 3 and two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad. This model was available with a starting price of $1,199 and in 4 color options: silver, starlight, space gray and midnight.

It is not yet clear whether other MacBook models will be introduced at WWDC. M3 Macs are expected to launch in the second half of 2023. These new models include the 13-inch MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini, and are expected to offer better performance with the M3 chip.

On the other hand, the M3 Pro and M3 Max, which are more powerful versions of the M3 chip for the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, are also expected to be introduced. However, these versions are not expected to be released until the first half of 2024.
