As you know, Apple announced the highly anticipated iPhone 15 and 15 Pro models as part of the recently held Wonderlust event. However, on the same day, an important decision was made by France regarding the iPhone 12. So much so that sales of the series were banned due to radiation danger. Now the technology giant plans to alleviate the situation with a new software update.

A new update is on the way for iPhone 12

For those who do not know, in the SAR tests carried out by the French National Frequency Agency (ANFR), it was determined that the iPhone 12 emits 5.74 watts of electromagnetic waves per kilogram when held in the hand or in the trouser pocket. At this point, the iPhone 12 was banned in the country because it exceeded the 4.0 watt limit set for the EU. However, we can say that the response from Apple was not delayed.

It will be rolling out a software update for users in France to comply with the protocol used by French regulators, the Cuppertino giant said on Friday. “We look forward to the iPhone 12 continuing to be available for sale in France,” he said. However, we should point out that no date has been shared for this update.

Additionally, Apple does not agree with the decision of the French commission. So much so that the company stated that the iPhone 12 is completely safe and pointed out that France is the only country among the 27 EU countries that has filed a complaint since 2020. At this point, it is stated that the current problems are caused by a specific testing protocol used by the French government.
