Apple Music just got a new feature designed to help you discover more music you’ll love. The new Discovery Station is now available and available on iPhone, iPad and Mac for Apple Music subscribers. To tell the truth, this feature has been around for a while on Spotify as well. But Apple seems to have handled the feature in a more useful way than Spotify.
The new personalized playlist is very similar to the Discovery Weekly feature on Spotify, making Apple even more competitive in the best music streaming service space. Instead of playing music that’s already in your library, this station plays music the app thinks you’ll want to add to your library.
To access the Discovery Station playlist, go to the Apple Music app, select the Listen Now tab, then scroll down until you see the Just for you section, where you’ll find the new playlist tailored to your listening history.
Discovery station is an automatically generated playlist that analyzes your listening history to recommend new music. Since Discovery Station is still in its early days, it will likely evolve over time, remembering what you repeat or skip, like most algorithmic systems.
