iPad Mini 7 is coming
According to a leaker known as “ShrimpApplePro,” the seventh-generation iPad mini is on the way. In a series of tweets detailing the Apple Watch Series 9 and the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra, the leaker said they’ve seen evidence of the future of at least one new iPad model, possibly the seventh-generation iPad mini.
On the other hand, as with the 11th generation iPad, the most likely feature to come to the next iPad mini may be a chip upgrade. The iPad mini is currently powered by the A15 Bionic chip, and it seems highly likely that this chip will be upgraded to either the A16 Bionic or A17 Bionic. Similarly, it is thought that there may be an upgrade in the front and rear cameras, and features such as the Photonic Engine may come to the iPad for the first time.
The latest iPad Pro models have brought connectivity upgrades like Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 to the iPad for the first time. It seems highly likely that these features will come to iPad mini by 2024. It’s also possible that another iPad Pro-exclusive feature, the Apple Pencil hover, will come to the iPad mini in the next model, but little is currently known about what exactly the refreshed device will offer.
