Apple lags behind in artificial intelligence
In a recent post on Medium outlining how Apple’s upcoming earnings report will impact Apple stock and its supply chain, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo explained that the company will likely not spend much time on AI during its earnings call due to the lack of progress in this area. According to Kuo, Apple has nothing substantial. It is stated that this situation will continue in 2024.
Last month, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that Apple is working on “Apple GPT” artificial intelligence projects that could rival OpenAI’s ChatGPT. However, it seems that Apple does not yet have a “clear strategy” for creating a product for consumers. Tim Cook said during Apple’s earnings call in May that there were “a number of issues to be resolved” with artificial intelligence and that it was important to be “planned and thoughtful” in the approach to development.
In addition to these, judging by the speculation, it seems that there are several ways Apple can deliver a productive AI model to users. For example, the company could integrate this technology with Siri, making the virtual assistant much more effective. Currently, Siri lags behind Google Assistant in terms of contextual references and results, and Google is preparing to add Bard AI to its own assistant.
