In Apple Maps, navigation directions will no longer occupy the entire lock screen. As you know, in the current iOS 16, the navigation mode takes up the entire iPhone screen and all other lock screen elements are hidden. But it looks like that will change in iOS 17.
It will no longer take over the lock screen
In the new design, directions and real-time visual route will only take up a portion of the lock screen, similar to album covers when listening to songs in Apple Music. App notifications, camera and flashlight shortcuts will be located at the bottom of the screen.
Less than a month until Apple announces new operating systems. The company will officially introduce iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, tvOS 17 and watchOS 10 versions at the WWDC 2023 conference, which will be held on June 5-9.
