Introducing the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, new iPad mini and iPad models in the past months, Apple presented the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, which draw attention with their features, to the users at the event it held today.
Apple brought a breath of fresh air to the laptop industry with its ARM-based processor. The company came up with the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors with the momentum it gained.
70 percent lower power consumption than M1: Apple M1 Pro features
According to the details announced, the M1 Pro processor will support 200 Gbps memory bandwidth. The new processor, which can be used with 32 GB of memory, has hardware security security technology.
M1 Pro, produced with 5nm technology, comes up with a 10-core CPU structure. On the GPU side, Apple M1 Pro, which has 16 cores, has 16-core Neural Engine technology that can perform 11 trillion operations per second for artificial intelligence operations.
M1 Pro draws attention with its high performance and low power consumption among ARM processors. It also became the industry leader in performance per watt, as the company calls it.
Supporting H. 264, HEVC, ProRes and ProRes RAW technologies on the Media Engine side, the processor exceeds expectations.
33. The processor, which contains 7 billion transistors, supports Thunderbolt 4 technology. M1 Pro, which also supports ProRes technology introduced with the iPhone 13 family, can be used with two screens at the same time.
Flagship processor: Apple M1 Max specifications
One of the company’s surprises, the Apple M1 Max processor, appeared with almost twice the performance of the M1 Pro.
The M1 Max processor was produced with 5nm technology, as in the M1 Pro model. However, the M1 Max supports 400Gbps memory bandwidth, unlike the M1 Pro. M1 Max, which comes with 64 GB RAM support, draws attention with 57 billion transistors.
The flagship processor was introduced with a 10-core CPU, as in the M1 Pro. However, unlike the M1 Pro, it has a 32-core GPU. In addition, the 16-core Neural Engine, which offers 11 trillion operations, was preferred.
The biggest difference of the M1 Max processor from the M1 Pro model is the display support. However, the M1 Pro processor has support for two screens, while the M1 Max processor is determined as four screens.
Apple announced that they are focusing on power consumption in both the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors. Similarly, processors, which are assertive about performance, will provide high battery time.
