The tablet market, which has been especially active with the effect of the pandemic period, also provides important gains to the players. With Huawei losing its share, the main players have benefited greatly from this.
Apple has doubled
According to last quarter market research by IDC, Apple sold a total of 17.5 million iPads, down 8 percent. Samsung, on the other hand, sold 7.3 million tablets, down 21%. Lenovo saw an increase of around 290 percent with 4.6 million units, while Huawei sold 2.5 million tablets.
When we look at the year 2021 in general, we see record increases. In total, Apple sold 57.8 million iPads, increasing its share by 8 percent to 34.2 percent. Samsung, on the other hand, reached 30.9 million tablet sales, an increase of 3.8 percent.
We see that Lenovo and Amazon have experienced significant increases in this period. Huawei, on the other hand, was able to sell 9.7 million tablets with a decrease of 32 percent with the effect of embargoes. While the overall market lost 11 percent in the last quarter, 168.8 million tablets were sold throughout the year, resulting in an increase of 3.2 percent.
