Although Apple has not yet introduced the M3 chip, engineers have already started testing. According to Mark Gurman, the company is testing it on a new laptop codenamed J514 (possibly the new MacBook Pro), which includes an Apple Silicon processor with a 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU.

What will the Apple M3 Max chip offer?

The M3 Max chip, which will power the top model of the new MacBook Pro, will include a 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU. The 16 core CPU consists of 12 high performance cores to handle extremely demanding tasks and 4 efficiency cores to save battery while running less intensive applications.

The new MacBook Pro, where the M3 Max processor is tested, has 48GB of RAM. The current models can be configured with 32GB, 64GB and 96GB RAM. Of course, this is just one of the configurations Apple has tested internally.

When will Macs with M3 processors be released?

The move to the M3 chip is expected to begin in October, starting with entry-level Macs including the iMac and 13-inch MacBook Pro. However, the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with the M3 Pro and M3 Max processors won’t arrive until 2024.
