According to sources from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is developing a Mac Mini computer based on the M3 processor. The device in question has the codename Mac 15.12. Gurman believes this is representative of Apple’s family of compact desktop computers.

Judging by the details transferred, we are talking about a system running macOS Sonoma 14.1 with a 10-core GPU, 8-core CPU and 24GB of RAM. It can be said that the Mac Mini with M3 is similar to the basic M2 Mac Mini in terms of specifications. Only the amount of memory is different.

Macs with M3 processors expected in October

As you know, the company included 8 GB of RAM in entry-level Macs equipped with its own Apple Silicon processor. From this point of view, it may come as a surprise that Apple suddenly jumps to 24 GB. Gurman said he doesn’t expect new Macs with M3 processors to be released before October.

The Bloomberg writer also confirmed earlier rumors that the iPhone 15 series will be introduced on September 12 or 13 and the smartphones will go on sale on September 22.
