Apple wants to intensify the competition in the affordable tablet market. New reports showed that the iPad Air and Mini models will use OLED instead of LCD. New devices to be offered in 2026 will also have larger screens.

We are holding our breath for OLED iPad Air and Mini

New information from South Korea has revealed all the information about Apple’s plans to switch iPad models to OLED displays. According to the report, Apple will bring T1 OLED (single-stack tandem) displays to iPad Air and iPad Mini starting from 2026.

We know that Apple has been focusing on OLED displays for a while. OLED screens, which provide improvements in many aspects, especially contrast and brightness, will replace the LCD panels in the Air and Mini series. The model to be released in 2026 is expected to be the 12.9-inch iPad Air.

The screen size of the iPad Mini, which will be introduced in 2026, is expected to be 8.7 inches. This means that there will be an increase in the screen compared to the current 8.3-inch model. However, Apple continues to maintain the 8-inch screen size by adhering to the Mini concept.

The report also revealed that Apple may introduce a new iPad Pro with an OLED screen in 2027. Early rumors revealed that the company wants to use a more advanced dual-stack OLED panel for the iPad Pro. This means that the screen difference between Air and Pro will be preserved.

On the other hand, recent leaks reported that the iPad Mini 7 will be sold at prices starting from $449. iPad Air, powered by the M1 chip, is planned to be upgraded to the M2 chip. iPad Mini will debut with the A16 Bionic chip.
