Apple seemed to have given up on “mini” versions of its iPhone and iPad models in recent years. The 6th generation Mini, the last member of the iPad Mini series, was introduced in late 2021. However, new claims showed that a surprise iPad Mini 7 model may arrive by the end of the year.
Claim that iPad Mini will be introduced before the end of 7 years
New reports from China have shown that Apple is working on a “small-sized” iPad model for the fourth quarter of this year. Apple, which placed an unexpected order for the iPad from manufacturers in China and India, supported its 7th generation Mini claims.
Apple has not renewed the iPad Mini series since 2021. In addition, the fact that the Mini name was not used in the iPhone 14 and 15 models showed that Apple had lost interest in small screens. However, in recent months, many leaks have emerged regarding the small-screen iPad model.
iPad Mini 6, introduced in 2021, comes with an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display. It gets its power from the A15 Bionic chip. The seventh generation is expected to maintain this screen size, but switch to the Apple Silicon chip.
In addition, it seems possible that there may be some improvements in the camera with features such as the Photonic Engine offered by Apple Silicon. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support was added to the iPad Pro models, and the new standards are expected to finally come to the iPad Mini family.
In response to all these leaks, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that seventh-generation Mini production will not start until the first quarter of 2024. So we’ll see if Apple makes a surprise iPad launch in the coming months.
