Earlier this month, Apple stated that company employees must come to the office three days a week from the beginning of next month. In line with the current plan, the staff will come to the office on Tuesday, Thursday and a third day of the week depending on the situation.
A group of Apple employees sent a petition to the company
However, Apple employees are not satisfied with the new work plan. Instead of going to the office three days a week, employees find “flexible work at home” appropriate. Expressing their wishes in this direction, the employees started a petition together with a petition.
Apple has been struggling for some time to get its employees back to work in an office environment. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, also claims that working in the office will increase collaboration among staff. Employees disagree with the CEO.
The ‘Apple Together’ group of company employees states that some employees are “happier and more productive” when working outside of traditional office arrangements. Stating that the personnel working in this way should not be forced to come to the office, the group stated that they expect respect from Apple officials.
Apple Together is asking Apple to allow employees to work with private managers to decide on work arrangements. It is also requested that these employees not be subject to “high-level approvals” and “complex procedures” or to not have to provide private information.
The petition states that Apple should “encourage, not ban” flexible working that makes employees feel comfortable. Meanwhile, Apple’s current plan for employees to work in-person in the office three days a week begins September 5.
