WWDC 2022 is just days away, and information about Apple’s first mixed reality headset (AR/VR) continues to come. According to the latest reports, Apple wants to work with some of Hollywood’s directors. Among these names, Jon Favreau, the director of The Mandalorian and Iron Man, stands out.
Hollywood directors can shoot movies for Apple AR/VR headset
According to a new report by The New York Times, Apple wants to buy movies/series from Hollywood directors for AR, VR headsets. Although it is still unclear how Apple’s mixed reality headset will be used, it is thought that the content of Hollywood directors will arouse curiosity.
According to NYT’s latest claim, the technology giant is meeting with Jon Favreau, who previously worked with Apple TV Plus for the Prehistoric Planet documentary. Among the popular productions of Jon Favreau are The Mandalorian and Iron Man, Lion King.
Although Apple is working with Hollywood stars, it seems that AR, VR headset will not be introduced at this year’s WWDC event. Earlier reports said that Apple has not yet overcome battery problems and that the headset can be announced in 2023 at the earliest.
While NYT supported this claim in its new report, it also deciphered other features of the mixed reality headset. According to the report, Apple is working on software tools to add extra features for camera and audio. It is even said to have designed the hands-free interface.
All these features that will be included in Apple’s headset will make it different from the current Meta Quest 2 or Microsoft HoloLens. Apple also attaches importance to applications to make its headset stand out.
As we have mentioned before, Apple will introduce AR/VR devices with high-end features within 2 years. It is stated that the device to be introduced will have two 4K micro-OLED displays, 15 camera modules and an equivalent processor with M series chips. It is stated that the cost of the device will be around $ 3,000.
