New news continues to come from the Apple Car project, which has been on the agenda with allegations for a while. According to Bloomberg’s report, 3 important engineers working on the Apple Car project have left Apple.
With Tesla becoming popular, many companies, especially automobile giants, joined the electric vehicle frenzy. Xiaomi, which is the subject of electric vehicle leaks, announced that it will introduce its electric vehicle in 2024.
3 more engineers left Apple Car team
It is stated that three engineers have left the company in the last few weeks. Eric Rogers, chief engineer responsible for radar systems, transferred to the aerospace company Joby Aviation.
Alex Clarabut, battery team manager, and Stephen Spiteri, hardware manager, joined Archer Aviation, a company that develops air taxis. Earlier in December, Apple Car engineering director Michael Schwekutch also moved on to Archer Aviation.
In 2021, 6 people from the management team working on the Apple Car project left the company and started working in different companies. The most important person to leave is Apple Car project leader Doug Field, who transferred to Ford after working in the electric vehicle development business for 3 years at the company.
After Doug Field, Apple Watch chief Kevin Lynch was brought in charge of the project. Working with AI (artificial intelligence) chief Jon Giannadrea, Lynch continues to work to introduce the Apple Car at the designated time.
The Apple Car project, which continues under the leadership of Lynch, will have a level 5 autonomous driving feature. It is estimated that the Apple Car model, which will come with level 5, which offers fully autonomous driving, will be introduced by 2025. It is worth remembering that no company has yet released level 5 autonomous driving technology.
