Apple can use the WiFi chip developed in the iPhone 17 series
Apple reduces its loyalty to Broadcom after Qualcomm. Currently, all iPhone 16 models are using Broadcom’s chip. However, we will see the WiFi chip that Apple designed in the iPhone 17 series next year. According to Kuo, the name of this claim, Apple’s use of its own WiFi chips will strengthen the connection between Apple devices and reduce costs.

iPhone 17 will benefit from the power of WiFi 7 to the end

The existing iPhone 16 models support Wi-Fi 7 with the Broadcom chip, but they have some limited features. With the support of Wi-Fi 7, the iPhone 17 series can benefit from 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands at the same time when connected to a compatible router. This means an increase in data transfer rate, decrease in delays and the connection is stable. Qualcomm says Wi-Fi 7 can reach high speeds exceeding 40 GBPS. In terms of comparison, the Wi-Fi 6E is more than four times faster.

Apple’s Wi-Fi chip is separate from the C1 modem chip introduced with the iPhone 16e. However, Apple is believed to combine them in a single component. The aim is to create a wireless installation where the components are strictly integrated and saves more energy. Thus, battery use of cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies will be reduced.
