Although it provides advantages to users in various ways, whether it is useful or not has become a matter of debate. New reports say that Apple will introduce a redesigned Action button with the iPhone 16 series.
Action button changes with iPhone 16 series
The Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max allows users to assign specific tasks, such as launching the camera or turning on the flashlight. This button is located on the right edge of the device in the form of a small mechanical button.
According to new claims, the Action button on the iPhone 16 series will work similar to the Home button on older iPhones. It is possible that the button, which is expected to be larger in terms of design, is also capacitive.
The claims also stated that the button will be included in the entire iPhone 16 series. The redesigned Action button has reportedly been seen on several iPhone 16 prototypes and is referenced as “Atlas” in internal documentation.
With this move, Apple wants to make the Action button more useful. It will also be able to attract older iPhone users as it has been providing a fully touch screen experience for years.
On the other hand, according to previous claims, Apple will increase the price of the iPhone 16 family, which will be introduced next year, to prevent the gap from widening as the iPhone 15 series is more costly compared to its predecessor.
