Popular messaging app Telegram failed to distribute its latest update for iOS users. According to Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, Apple is not yet ready for the messaging app’s final emoji pack. That’s why the App Store team reviewed the update for about two weeks and didn’t accept it.
Emoji crisis between Apple and Telegram
Company CEO Pavel Durov, who first published a statement on Telegram on August 10, said that the last update of the application was stuck in the App Store. Stating that the update was delayed for two weeks, Durov stated that he did not know why it was accepted.
Focusing on a feature called “Telemoji”, the iOS update allows emojis in Telegram to look much more lively. Telegram CEO described this feature as “higher quality animated versions of standard emoji”.
Stating that Apple did not accept the Telemoji feature, CEO Pavel Durov could not offer the new emoji package to iOS users. We don’t know why the tech giant didn’t accept this emoji set, but it might not meet iOS standards.
With the removal of Telemoji, the update has been re-uploaded to the App Store. After a two-week wait, the Telemoji-free update has been confirmed. Still, more than 10 emoji have been added to Telegram with the latest update.
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov stated that emojis will be much more enjoyable thanks to Telemoji, and he could not understand Apple’s move. Still, he emphasized that they will work to make Telemoji more unique.
