Apple begins OLED orders for iPad Pro
Reportedly, Apple has started ordering OLED panels from LG and Samsung Display. While the new panels are expected to be used in the iPad Pro in 2024 and the MacBook Pro in 2025, orders will be distributed equally between the two giant manufacturers. At this point, we see that BOE, one of the company’s biggest partners, is not involved in the first batch of OLED orders. Indeed, it is reported that the agreement between the technology giant and BOE is currently under review.
According to sources close to the industry, Apple will turn to 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch OLED panels in its first orders. If we recall, recent leaks indicated that the new iPad Pro models will have larger screen sizes than their predecessors. We can say that new information confirms this. However, it is not known whether there will be any changes in device dimensions.
Shared data shows that the last generation iPad Pro sold more than 70 million units in the previous fiscal year. Indeed, between October and December 2022, Apple generated $9.4 billion in revenue, a 28 percent jump year-on-year.
