After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, many countries and companies condemned Russia and President Vladimir Putin and subjected them to some sanctions. Among these sanctions were heavy sanctions in many areas from automotive to sports.
Apple, on the other hand, added new sanctions, which it gradually increased its dose. The company even stopped sales of products in Russia.
Apple made a statement about the sanctions
Apple officials said in their statement;
“We are very concerned about the Russian occupation of Ukraine and the violence of its citizens. We support humanitarian efforts, seek a solution to the refugee crisis and try to provide all the support we can in the region.
We took many actions during this occupation. We stopped the sale of all our products in Russia. Last week, we stopped sending products to Russia. Apple Pay and other services are restricted. RT News and Sputnik News apps are now removed from the App Store in countries other than Russia. For the safety of citizens in Ukraine, we have disabled the live traffic and accidents feature in Apple Maps.
We will continue to assess the current situation and impose sanctions on relevant governments. We join those calling for peace around the world.”
It seems that new sanctions await Russia in the near future.
