Apple has been on the agenda of the technology world recently with its iPhone 12 models in France. Realizing that the radiation emitted by the smartphone was higher than it should be, the French regulatory agency ANFR requested that sales be stopped throughout the country. Today, Apple announced that an update will be released for iPhone 12 models as a solution to this problem.
Update for iPhone 12 is on the way!
For those who have no idea about the subject, let’s start from the beginning. In its remarkable statement recently made for the iPhone 12, the French National Frequency Agency (ANFR) stated that when the smartphone is held in the pocket or in the hand, it absorbs 5.74 watts of electromagnetic energy, exceeding the limit of 4 watts per kilogram.
Subsequently, ANFR demanded that Apple make corrections and take the necessary precautions to reduce the electromagnetic radiation in the iPhone 12, and stated that otherwise the brand would have to recall the smartphones.
Apple told its employees to remain silent about this problem. According to reports, the brand asked its technical support team not to share information when consumers asked a question about radiation risks. So the situation was quite serious.
Today, Apple announced in a statement to some press organizations that they will release a software update for users in France in order to comply with the protocols implemented by French regulators. With this update, electromagnetic radiation will be reduced.
Although it is stated that the update in question will be released only for iPhone 12 users in France, since the problem is on the smartphone, the question arises whether the update will also be available for users in other countries.
Europe, along with France, is an important market for Apple. Because the brand generated nearly 95 billion dollars in revenue from the region last year. Therefore, the company will do its best not to lose this large market.
