A few Apple-1 computers that appeared last year were slowly going up for auction after long reviews. An Apple-1 signed by Steve Wozniak and still in working order sold for $340,000, while the computer that Steve Jobs assembled by hand was sold for $905,000.
Today, it has been announced that one of these rare computers will go on sale. Besides, this piece has Steve Jobs’ handwriting on it.
There are only 20 of these computers left in the world.
The Apple-1, which was produced by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in the late 1970s with only 200 pieces, is very valuable due to the fact that each part is assembled by hand. Only 20 of these computers in the world are intact and fully operational, making them extremely valuable.
What sets the new Apple-1 apart from the others is the inscription “#78” in Steve Jobs’ handwriting. Often hand-assembled parts are numbered to keep stock, and if necessary, these inscriptions are wiped off with alcohol wipes. While other Apple-1 motherboards do not have these numbers, the presence of numbers on this piece makes it so special.
In the statement made about the computer to be sold by RR Auction House, it was observed that all parts of the computer, which was operated for 8 hours in the tests performed, were working smoothly and the computer did not give any errors. A detailed status report and video proving it works will be provided upon request.” it was said.
The computer, which was sold by RR Auction House to an anonymous buyer in 2018 for $375,000, is now looking for its new owner. The computer is expected to sell for over $1 million at the end of the auction, which will end on December 16.
