Apex Legends, which was released in 2019 and quickly turned into one of the popular games of the gaming world, recently met with players on a different platform besides console and PC. The game, set in the Titanfall universe, was released for mobile platforms.
The new mobile game, released under the name Apex Legends Mobile, has already managed to attract tens of thousands of players on both platforms. So what does Apex Legends Mobile offer to players? Will Apex Legends Mobile be given a chance? For those who want to get answers to these questions, we have created this comprehensive review article.
What is Apex Legends Mobile?
Before starting to delve deeper into Apex Legends Mobile, it would be useful to provide information about the game. Apex Legends Mobile is basically the same as the main game, Apex Legends. In the battle-royale mode, which is the main mode of the game, we jump out of the plane with our team of three and try to be the last team to survive in a constantly shrinking area. The game will rival giants such as Call of Duty: Mobile, Garena Free Fire and PUBG: Mobile in the mobile world.
Apex Legends Mobile pros and cons:
Game pros:
- Multiple game modes outside of battle-royale
- Mobile special character
- Can be played without spending real money
- More cumbersome than the original game, but in a good way
- Better than almost all mobile games in terms of graphics
- Also sound quality high level like graphics
- Fun and full gameplay mechanics
- Stable performance
Game cons:
- Limited number of characters
- Battle-royale mode consists of a map
- User interface can be dysfunctional
- Hard to learn for new players

Apex Legends Mobile What does it offer?
Apex Legends Mobile begins with a tutorial that tries to get you used to the game. While we’re learning how to move, aim, shoot, and controls like crouching/jumping in the game in this tutorial, few touches on some of the most basic functionalities in the game. For example, since it is played with teams of three, communication is of great importance in Apex Legends and detailed information is not provided for the signs, which is our only instant communication option, except for voice communication in the game.
However, jumping into the game after completing the tutorial can make players, especially beginners, be stunned. Because Apex Legends, unlike other battle-royale games, has a more mobile structure and its controls carry this. In addition to our special abilities, sliding and jumping also play a big role in the game. But the tutorial prefers to leave getting used to them to the player’s in-game experience, not the tutorial part. This causes the learning line to be steep, which can cause some new players to leave the game immediately.
The most comprehensive game in its category:
After you get used to the game, some basic obstacles appear in front of you. First of all, since the game is a mobile game, you do every control except looking around with a button. Apex Legends’ extensive gameplay mechanics also cause too many buttons in the game interface. These keys take up a large part of the screen, even in their smallest form. Information screens such as the map in the game, teammate information, the weapons in our hands and the contents of the boxes we open have to be displayed in smaller windows.
But that doesn’t mean Apex Legends Mobile isn’t a fun game. The game offers a different experience, unlike the games with just the move-and-shoot system that we are used to in the mobile world. While the abilities of our character shape the game, the strategic use of these abilities and the use of them in harmony with the team determines the winner of the game.
Apex Legends Mobile, unlike the original game, also includes some innovations. Besides the mobile version-exclusive Fade character, the game has a skill tree for each character. Each new ‘Advantage’ we activate in the skill tree that we progress by playing with the character adds different skills to our character.
Game modes, characters and maps:
Apex Legends Mobile includes battle-royale mode as well as ranked encounter, respawn, arena and gameplay. It hosts special game modes that are added from time to time. But unlike the original game, the mobile game only has one map in the battle-royale game mode, the original ‘End of the World’ map. There are 3 different maps in Arena mode and 5 different maps in respawn mode.
This variety of game modes in Apex Legends precedes games in the battle-royale category. But the main point of the game is the characters that allow us to play the game. The fact that each character has their own special abilities prevents you from playing the same thing all the time. On the other hand, the variety of characters in the mobile game does not meet the original game. While there are 21 characters in Apex Legends, there are 10 characters in Apex Legends Mobile.
Don’t ask if it’s an ad-free mobile game:
In these days when mobile games print money, Apex Legends Mobile has a structure that will allow a player to play the game nonstop without paying money. There are no ads in the game. Yes, there are no ads in a mobile game. However, the game gives plenty of rewards to the players as they play, just like in the main game.
Since all purchasable items in the game are cosmetic items, those who want to spend money on the game only need to spend money on cosmetic items. However, these can be met thanks to the free system of the Battle Pass and the rewards received through systems such as achievements. In other words, you don’t really need a penny out of your pocket to play this game with pleasure.
So how does the game perform?
Apex Legends Mobile would not be unfair to call it the Crysis of the mobile gaming world. The game offers graphics options where you can reach the maximum FPS according to the hardware your device has. The Samsung Galaxy A51, which is the tool for this review, allows you to use the most ‘Normal’ graphics quality in the game. In other words, mid-segment phones in similar price scales do not allow you to see your top-end graphics of the game.
The game’s graphics quality settings have been adjusted in a way that does not spoil the quality in the game. Of course, there are higher resolution textures in high graphics quality, while low resolution textures do not harm the gameplay. However, your view distance on the game map does not decrease at low image quality. In this way, you can distinguish the players from a distance.
Samsung Galaxy A51 was able to get 30-40 FPS depending on your location in-game without using any extra performance enhancing software with the highest graphics quality offered by the game. These values are acceptable for non-competitive mobile gamers. On the other hand, while it was shared that the game caused a heating problem on some devices, in our experience with the Galaxy A51, we saw that the game did not heat up even if it was open for 1 hour at the highest graphics. If you have a heating problem, lowering the graphics quality may help.
Is Apex Legends Mobile playable?
Apex Legends Mobile, although it has a difficult time getting used to, offers a more fluid, fun and dynamic gameplay compared to other mobile battle-royale games on the market. However, the game will probably host content and story that changes constantly over time, just like the main game. The map of the game will be constantly renewed with this story. Apex Legends Mobile can be a game that can give you a new breath in the application stores where each battle-royale game is similar to each other. The absence of any ads in the game is definitely one of the things you will find strange when you enter the game.
