While the overheating problem of the iPhone 15 was waiting for a solution, another problem started to emerge in the posts on social media platforms. As reported by MacRumors, many users reported that the NFC chip in their device stopped working after charging their new iPhone 15 with the wireless charging pad in their BMW car.

The NFC (Near Field Communication) chip in iPhones enables the use of various features such as Apple Pay and digital car keys. Reportedly, the error message “Apple Pay Failed to Establish” appears in the Wallet application of devices affected by the problem, the exact cause of which has not yet been determined.

MacRumors notes that the majority of complaints about the issue come from iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max owners. However, there is a possibility that the regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus may also experience this problem. It is unknown which BMW models are affected by the problem.

Although some users have managed to renew their devices, there is a possibility that the problem may reoccur on the replaced device. According to users, affected devices may enter recovery mode for varying periods of time and prevent the use of services such as Apple Cash, Apple Card, and digital key.

One user on the Macrumors forums said: “I bought a new one. The same thing happened again and the phone kept randomly booting into restore mode which took over 90 minutes each time. “I returned the 15 Pro today and went back to my 14 Pro, which had no issues despite being used with the same phone case, wireless chargers, cars, etc,” he wrote.

Apple launched the iPhone 15 series last month, and the devices have been in the news for various reasons since their launch. Following the color change in the titanium alloy frame of the iPhone 15 Pro, reports about the overheating problem, which Apple said it will solve in a future software update, also attract attention.
